Located in Cullowhee and only 50 km from Harrah's Casino, Arrowmont Stables & Cabins provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. Every room comes with a balcony with views of the quiet street. The units are equipped with air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a microwave, a coffee machine, a walk-in shower, a hair dryer and a outdoor furniture. All units have a private bathroom with free toiletries, while selected rooms include a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher. At the guest house, each unit is fitted with bed linen and towels. Guests can take advantage of the warm weather with the property's barbecue facilities. Guests at the guest house will be able to enjoy activities in and around Cullowhee, like hiking. Arrowmont is a 200 acre working horse farm located on top of Cullowhee Mountain. We best serve families who are looking to get away from the stress of city life and want a remote, quiet place to relax... and the horses add their own special charms. The cabins were built in the '60's and are not handicap accessible. They are simple and comfortable. There is a bumpy gravel road that services the various cabins on the farm Since we are on top of a mountain, you might want to stop in town (Sylva, Franklin or Cashiers) for groceries before coming to your cabin. It's a 30 minute drive back to town for a grocery store. Sorry, GPS's don't work as well here because the mountains block signals. Consequently, cell phones also have poor reception. Verizon cells get the best signal... if you get a signal. Unfortunately, we do not accept pets. We are simply too small to set a side a unit just for pet owners. We are very sorry. In addition to the activities available at Arrowmont, such as: Horseback Riding (You get a 15% Discount) Trout fishing (in summer) 6-7 miles of hiking trails Hay rides Family reunions Special events
My wife and I wanted to raise our family in the beauty of these majestic mountains. We feel very fortunate to be able to live in this area. But it's definitely not for everyone. It's a "getaway" in every sense. "Shopaholics" may have problems.
You are coming to a remote mountainous area of North Carolina. There is a windy, two lane road climbing the mountain and the nearest grocery is 30 minutes away. So do make a list and check it twice! The gravel driveway is about 1 1/3 mile long.
