Located overlooking beautiful Castara Bay, Castara Retreats is a family-run eco resort offering self-catering accommodations set in 2 acres of tropical gardens. Each accommodation has ocean views and is just a three minute walk from the beach. The well-appointed apartments include air conditioned en-suite bedrooms, kitchen, fans, private terrace, comfortable seating, dining area, and free Wi-Fi throughout. The on-site open-air restaurant Caribbean Kitchen, celebrates the flavours of the Caribbean, and has panoramic views to the beach and sunset. An array of activities can be arranged including hiking, bird watching, diving, snorkelling, and horseback riding. Castara Retreats also offers massage services and yoga classes on-site. Car hire, boat trips, and rainforest walks can be organised by theon-site team. Tobago Airport is a 45-minute drive from Castara Retreats.

Sue and Steve Felgate discovered Castara 15 years ago fell in love with its raw beauty, lovely people and tropical climate. They had a vision for creating somewhere that embraced life’s simple luxuries and celebrated the gorgeous natural surroundings. The local team - led by charismatic Porridge and his wife Jeanell - will do their best to ensure your stay is a happy one. Their openness of spirit and heartfelt welcome puts even the most stressed-out of us at our ease, gradually helping us connect with the relaxed Tobago ‘go slow’ attitude that many have found to be so beguiling. They have created a warm and intimate atmosphere around the place, where people are welcomed as guests, but depart as friends.

Castara’s gorgeous sandy beach is just a short walk away. Here, you’ll find safe swimming in the azure Caribbean, sun loungers under the natural shade of palms, and local bars perfect for enjoying a chilled beer at sunset. You’ll see the fishing boats bobbing into the bay loaded with the daily catch, and the Seine fishermen who pull in great nets onto the beach. Strolling down to the village, you’ll find a friendly, local vibe that is welcoming to visitors and invites you to experience the relaxed rhythms of Caribbean village life.Small restaurants are dotted around the village and serve tasty Caribbean cuisine. In the local bars you can get a taste for the local beers and the rum punch, though beware- it comes with a serious kick! Regular events include an African Drumming night and BBQ and pan music
