Welcome to tour cottage or cabin, a wooden three-bedroom in the middle of the forest but not far from the action. It also only 25 minutes from Kattegattleden, Sweden's Number One bike path along the coast that goes from Helsingborg to Gothenburg (380km) in eight stages. The house itself is cosy and welcoming, with light wooden floors, walls and ceilings. It has three small bedrooms with six beds in total, a bathroom with toilet and shower and a small fitted kitchen. The layout is such that there is a huge living area where you can talk, play, eat and cook together if you wish. Sit at the dining table and watch the deer peeking out of the forest or from the terrace, which also has a large table for four to six guests and a grill. All kitchen portable devices are new, all bedding and towels are new. We have been looking for a stuga (cottage) on Hallandsåsen to buy and rent out for two years. We've looked at hundreds and this is the one we wanted. We bought it in July. The location is perfect and the surroundings are perfect. In case it's too quiet at night, remember there are neighbours nearby (whom you can't see) if you need help with something. Välkommen!

Welcome to our cottage/cabin that seems so out-of-the-way, you'll think you're far from the fun. However, it is only ten minutes to the main road which will take you to Båstad (one of the most popular towns in Sweden in summer), Laholm (an old Danish town in Southern Halland) and/or to Helsingborg, a lovely seaside town which is also a bustling business centre and from where you can take the ferry to Denmark for a day trip. And if you like the sea and lakes, we have so much of it you can't avoid it! We love this area and find something new every time. I first came to Sweden as a child 40 years ago and I have been coming back ever since. We finally bought a house here five years ago and now our cottage is an addition to the family. We live in Germany and come here for several months of the year. The rest of the time the cottage is looked after by our competent friends and neighbours. From our cottage on Hallandsåsen (a gorgeous wooded peninsula in SW Sweden) you can reach everything on this list within an hour, most of it within half an hour - plus, you can hike or bike from the front door!
