My partner and I have built this cozy little rustic cabin for our guests to be able to relax in the tranquility of our wilderness homestead, settled on the edge of deep woods and the bank of the mighty Vattudalen river. Our goal is to provide a simple, yet comfortable place to rest, connect with nature and recharge, and perhaps also get inspired. We believe that simplicity is what is missing in most peoples´s lives today. The cabin, often reffered to as the Husky Cabin is furnished and equipped with rustic natural materials, and decorated with photographs of this area´s nature and wildlife and our huskies, and with art and handcrafts of local artists. We practice a sustainable and partially self-sufficient lifestyle and our guest cabin and the whole property and surroundings are ideal for a similar-minded person(s). In the bathroom you will find handmade soap, our linen and towels are washed without chemicals, and trash is sorted out for recycling and composting. We even have a little souvenir shop where our guests can purchase our herbal teas, salves, jams, wild flower sirrups, etc. and we also have a small selection of handcrafts from local makers.

We love our life with our dog family - the pack of Siberian husky sled dogs and we love our life in harmony with nature. And we are very passionate about sharing that love and respect for nature, wild animals, herbs and the huskies with our guests! Weather it is via providing accommodation in our simple but cozy cabin, by guiding on a foraging walk, hiking, snowshoeing or canoeing trip, dog sled tour or teaching a herbal workshop, we want our guests to enjoy their stay to the fullest. We will also gladly show our guests maps with good fishing spots, waterfalls and other great nature places, and give tips on local places of interest.

Our property is located in a remote area, 40km from Strömsund. All our neighborhood has to offer is pristine nature, lakes, rivers and creeks with crystal clear and totally safe to drink water, meadows with abundance of wild flowers and herbs, deep forests with mushrooms, and berries, and lots of wildlife (moose, bears, foxes, reindeer) and many species of birds. There are many opportunities for fishing from shore or boat, and possibility to buy fishing ticket right on place. Vattudalen has several natural beaches and on a warm summer it is possible to take a nice long swim. There is a shelter with grill at one of the beaches. Hiking and walking possibilities straight from the cabin door are countless. Right here in Vedjeön we have a summer-cafe with a natural product, handcraft and local eco produce shop, and two thrift shops, all open from June to August. Our neighbor village Hillsand has a goat cheese farm shop. 35min drive from here you can rent a canoe and paddle on the Öjarn lake, on the footsteps of Hotagen nature reserve. There are several waterfalls and opportunities to hike in the mountains, in our area, all within 1-1,5h drive from the cabin.
