The house was built in 1833 and was used as a courthouse for Faurås until 1907. During the Second World War, Gustav Vilhelm Svensson started a sewing factory for fashion construction in the building. From the beginning, there were 24 tiled stoves in the house, some of them on wooden legs. It also boasts a cast iron stove which is said to come from Selma Lagerlöf's home Mårbacka. Gekås founder Göran Karlsson bought the house in the 80's and lived there with the family for many years and allowed both to restore and rebuild the property. Some furnishings are related to the period house period, as the counter as the divisional room between judges, board members and convicted in what is today the living room. The pillars in the hall are the remains of the original judge's court. Also furniture in the house testifies to the house building activities, like the old coffin in the hall that should have been inside the detention center. The windows for the windows remain in the present wine cellar, where criminals must have stayed until they were brought to the courtroom.
