The history of Pension Infinity goes back to the beginning of the 20th century, when the current site was mentioned in the 1899 census as the home of the merchant Alecu Meculescu's family and his tenants. After 1906, but before 1912, the then owner demolished the original building and built from scratch a much larger house with a ground and first floor. The last major renovation of the building was carried out during 2021 by the family Mihai and Corina Zidărescu.

The Infinity Pension enjoys an ultra-central location, close to the Faculty of Education, Law and Public Administration, just a few steps from Victoria Square, the Gorj County Prefect's Institution, the Gate of Silence, the Table of Silence and the Elvira Godeanu National Dramatic Theatre. The modern space, recently refurbished to the highest HORECA standards, discreetly welcomes its guests in the style of Western hotels. The design of the building finely reproduces classical architectural elements, typical of the 20th century. The attention given to every detail, as well as to the structure as a whole, successfully combines the refinement and elegance of bygone times with the new spirit of post-modern decorative elements, designed to offer a degree of comfort worthy of the exclusive hotels of the great European cities.

The location is less than 100 m from Calea Eroilor (which connects the works included in the Constantin Brâncuși Sculpture Ensemble in Târgu-Jiu). The ensemble includes 4 monuments of great artistic value, internationally renowned: the Gate of the Kiss, the Infinity Column, the Table of Silence, and the Alley of Chairs. It is also at a short distance from the institutions of interest at the county level - 350 m from the Prefecture of Gorj County and the Targu-Jiu City Hall, but also from the cultural and sports institutions, 88 m from the Elvira Godeanu Dramatic Theatre, 450 m from the Gorj County Museum and 450 m from the "Constantina Dita" Municipal Stadium.
