Lita’s Place is nestled within the mountains of Cordilleras Abajo on the edge of Volcan Baru. Every lodging location has a different mix of scenery between the river, the pond, mountains, and the distant ocean. Lita’s can accommodate guests year-round due to the temperate winter and summer climate. The summer rains boast a lush landscape while the whole year stays within temperatures of 14-20 Celsius. The property covers three hectares and features gardens, a koi and tilapia pond that guests can fish for tilapia in. The estate is a working hacienda that is a sanctuary to a variety of animals in need of a temporary or a permanent home, including a pygmy monkey, owls, and dogs. The property is perfect for birdwatching as it sees a large variety of birds come through due to the area’s location on migratory routes. All guests have access to hammocks, chairs, and barbecue accommodations in addition to self-guided hiking. Volcan Baru National Park is within 9.3 miles. Additional activities nearby include a 15 to 59 foot repel down Canyon Macho Monte. The city of Cerro Punta is also only 19 miles away.
