Tui Cottage is a fully renovated, open-plan, art deco, two bedroom cottage that blends all the character and charm of yesteryear with the comfort and convenience of an attractive and modern home. Cute as a button, but also warm and comfortable. Located in central Hampden, Tui Cottage is within easy walking distance of several local eateries and Hampden Beach or just a few minutes drive to the famous Moeraki Boulders. The spacious section is fully fenced, making it suitable for both children and pets. Tui Cottage is ideal for couples and families with full kitchen, dining, bathroom and laundry facilities. Several local Tui, Bellbirds and Kereru visit the property frequently, delighting guests with their birdsong. The cottage features a Tui splashback in the kitchen that is simply stunning. A flat screen TV if connected to Freeview, free WiFi is available and guests also enjoy the plentiful board games, a few books to read, and a stereo with bluetooth.
Kerry and Jo are new to hosting, but not new to life. Jo has worked in Vet clinics for many years, and Kerry has a background in education. Both of us are now retired and enjoy relaxed village life in Hampden. Our kids are grown up and have moved on to their own careers, so our dog Bella and 3-legged cat Skippy keep us company now. Kerry has been known to thrash a golf ball when he is not fishing, and Jo loves her crafts and gardening. We both enjoy the thriving bird-life in Hampden, with many Tui and Kereru keeping us entertained. Walking along Hampden Beach at low tide is another of life's simple pleasures that puts a smile on our faces. Well, that's enough about us. Tui Cottage is a holiday home that we hope you will enjoy, and we look forward to getting to know you and your family.
Located in the heart of Hampden, Tui Cottage is an easy walk to several local eateries or just a few minutes drive away to others located in Moeraki. Dining out simply doesn't get any easier, or much better. Nearby attractions and activities include: - Hampden Beach - Moeraki Boulders - Moeraki seaside village - a yellow-eyed penguin colony, and a fur seals colony at Katiki Point - walking and biking tracks at Herbert Forest. Oamaru is just 30 minutes away to the North, and Dunedin is only an hour away to the south.
