Number 74 is the ideal place to stay, with the added bonus of a separate guest lounge it is perfect for groups of friends, families or couples wanting to escape to the country to relax and unwind. You will find 3 Queen size beds in 3 separate rooms (an additional room with a double bed is available if required for group bookings). One bedroom has an ensuite, the other bedrooms share a bathroom and a separate toilet. In addition to the bedrooms guests have their own lounge/dining area with direct access to the courtyard/spa/garden bar & games room area. Feel feel to wander around our 2 hectare property and fill your lungs with fresh country air and enjoy the unique rural vibes. A working farm is located around our property. We have cats, dogs and sometimes lambs who are always keen for a pat. A FREE continental breakfast is provided for guests with complimentary tea and coffee and delicious home baking to enjoy upon arrival. If you just want to kick back, relax and enjoy the serenity we can provide you with BBQ/platter options and a small range of beverages. (Full details are available upon booking confirmation). The Oturehua Hotel, Wedderburn Tavern and Vulcan Hotel are all in our local area, you can choose to dine at any of these establishments (bookings are essential). There are also plenty of other pubs and restaurants worth considering in the region, and some great little local cafe's too. Our favourite places to escape to are: Historic Hayes in Oturehua which has a fab cafe, or a visit to St Bathans and relaxing in the garden bar at the Vulcan Hotel is always a pleasure. There are so many great places to explore nearby: St Bathans, Cambrians, Ophir, Oturehua, Naseby & Ranfurly.

Anne and Ewan Kirk are your hosts at Number 74 on Lockhart. While living in Ranfurly we began hosting cyclists through "Warmshowers". We enjoyed this so much, we decided running our own Guest Lodge would be fun. Now our family is all grown up, we decided to begin our new adventure - We just love sharing our little piece of paradise! Guests enter our home as strangers, but are made to feel welcome and many leave with a special place in our heart. Anne loves baking, quilting, art, drama and the occasional gin. When Ewan is not working at the Maniototo Adventure Park (in Naseby) he can be found in the garden, or playing lawn bowls. He also enjoys curling. We have 2 English Springer Spaniel dogs and 3 cats who live on the property. They are always keen to make new friends.

Set in a peaceful rural location with stunning views of the famous Hawkdun Mountain Range (made famous by local artist Grahame Sydney) most people will agree we have the best views in the region. The local area is famous for its stunning landscape - with award winning movie 'Power of the Dog' filmed on a neighbouring property. Add to that the spectacular mountain ranges and the majestic big skies which impress both day and night, and you will never want to leave! We are located on a no exit road off State Highway 85 (6.2km from the township of Oturehua). Please Note: You need to enter Lockhart Road off State Highway 85.
