This is a rustic 100yr old camp that was historically built for the Monowai Power Station workers in the 1960's as a boarding hostel and has retained this charm. Our camp has 10 cabins & 2 caravans onsite with different bedding configurations, Shared bathroom block and cookhouse. All cooking equipment available, BBQ in gazebo. We are only 500mtrs from the Waiau river and 10kms drive to Monowai Lake. Visit the Monowai Power Station which was opened 1 May 1925 and it still services the Southland District. It is one of the oldest and most scenic power stations in New Zealand.
