Greenstone Retreat is THE West Coast holistic healing retreat centre with accommodation, camp ground, yoga and massage. Greenstone Retreat comes with organic gardens and welcomes multi day stays. The property includes a spacious historic villa, 2 basic family cabins, a renovated Caravan called Lolly, modern shared bathrooms, lounge, kitchens and a camp ground at the back. Free WiFi is available throughout the property as well as free parking. Surrounding attractions include the Wilderness Cycle Trail, walking and mountain biking tracks. You can enjoy local star gazing. The Theatre Royal Hotel is within walking distance. Kumara Village, as well as a range of rivers, lakes and beaches are all within 10 minutes' drive. The property is a 20-minute drive from Hokitika and Greymouth, and 1-hour drive from Punakaiki pancake rocks. The main property has no TV, but a range of games, books and magazines encouraging guests to socialise and relax. A fully equipped self catering kitchen, large dining table and open plan connecting lounge makes this a great space to share with friends and family. There is a wood burning fire, heaters and beanbags. Towels and linen are included for the villa. Those staying in the dormitory rooms have access to an outdoor, covered kitchen with barbecue facilities and all cooking utensils. The beds are made up, however towels are available to hire for an additional charge of $2. Kate is the founder and fairy-godmother of Greenstone Retreat. She has been breathing new life into the place since 2015, creating glorious garden spaces and restoring the historic villa. Each area is carefully and thoughtfully tended to bring out its charming best. Under Kate’s leadership, Greenstone Retreat has become the Holistic Wellness and Yoga Hub on the West Coast. She curates community experiences and connections through the retreat that bring healing and relief. Originally from Dorset in the South West of England. Kate took a career break from the fitness industry in 2015 and came traveling around the world. She found the West Coast of New Zealand and felt instantly at home. It was a place filled with wonderful people, wild landscapes and opportunities that could help her to grow. Since then Kate has become a permanent resident and has been working in hospitality all over the Coast. Kate finally found her dream home in 2014 which was very rundown, overgrown and needing lots of love and filled with potential. She has not looked back and her roots are firmly planted. Kate is passionate about yoga as a lifestyle, a personal practice and as a teacher along with gardening, beaches and music which fit in well with her lifestyle. Kate is a wealth of knowledge on all things West Coast and is happy to help point you in the right direction so you have an unforgettable amazing experience.
