Fresh and clean decor reflecting the natural beauty of Port Fitzroy, this self contained apartment allows for the guests to relax and soak up the views in comfort. Apartment living with open plan kitchen, lounging, dining area. The toilet, shower and vanity are located downstairs. A wood burner for those colder winter nights makes for a cosy romantic escape from the city in winter and in summer airy with easy access to the outdoors for those easy laidback warm summer evenings makes for a perfect weekend away.
We love these two islands, Waiheke and Great Barrier Island, we both live, and work between both the islands. We enjoy traveling and meeting local and international travellers. We also spend a few months a year in Indonesia, one of our favourite destination amongst others. Originally from Cape Town South Africa we immigrated to NZ in 1999 and made NZ our home. Our place on Waiheke Island has a Bali feel to it, subtropical plants and a mature nikau grove protects our privacy and creates a sanctuary near the beach. Bohohill Great Barrier Island is our place to getaway and relax in nature, nestled on a hill above waterfront overlooking tranquil Kaiaraara Bay in Port Fitzroy area, we like our guest to enjoy their stay whether it's Waiheke or GBI and we are available anytime to be of assistance.
Port Fitzroy has a long and interesting history, Kaiaraara Bay being the largest inlet with many safe anchorages with depth allowing for many large super yachts and other smaller vessels to visit including a regular visitor the Spirit of New Zealand. Port Fitzroy is a stop for boats to pick up fuel, water, and supplies. The harbor is particularly busy with Auckland boaties during the Christmas and summer periods. There are aquaculture farms in the sheltered waters and many walking tracks, managed by the Department of Conservation, pass waterfalls, deep pools for swimming, historical places of interest and a mixture of native and exotic forest. Port Fitzroy and the North Barrier area have a long history. Originally settled by the Ngati Wai, they were joined by European settlers in 1838. Descendants of both still reside in the area.
