We love having guests and have travelled widely. We bought the grove in 2000. We have been producing Extra Virgin Olive Oil since 2002 and consistently win awards in the Olives New Zealand competitions. Our oil proudly displays the 'Red Sticker' which is the Olives New Zealand mark of authenticity for Extra virgin Olive Oil. We are proud of the fact that we farm sustainably. Besides the olives we have a small flock of sheep which we graze on the grove after picking each year, and on and off up until Christmas. The sheep 'trim' the trees and keep down the grass - cleaning up the grass around the tree base. The olive leaves in turn work as a natural wormer for the sheep. Our house is as 'eco-friendly' as possible, with sustainable bamboo floors in the living areas, air-blown concrete - hebel cladding, recycled glass insulation, double glazing and thermal aluminium window frames.

The neighbouring blocks/farms are all small lifestyle blocks. The quiet environment is very peaceful and therapeutic. Most of the neighbours just have cattle or sheep grazing on their properties and live in the area for its amazing views and peaceful surrounds. It is also within reasonable proximity to Wellington - a very vibrant and edgy city. By car it is 1 hour and train it is 1 hour ... and the trains go and return every 30 minutes.
