Our cozy Guesthouse is located in the center of a small fisher village called Mehamn. Just 24 km away from the most northern point of the European mainland, Cape Nordkinn. We are located on the Nordkinn Peninsula, surrounded by the Barents Sea. The nearest neighbor villages are Gamvik in the east and Kjøllefjord southwest. You can reach us by car, the famous Hurtigruten Cruises ship or daily by airplane from Kirkenes or Tromsø. The Blue House offers comfortable bedrooms, a bright bathroom with heated floor, a modern equipped kitchen and a cozy living room with a fireplace. In the cellar, we have a sauna, with a separate shower and an additional WC. Outside you will find a spacious terrace with great views over the local harbor and the mountains surrounding Mehamn. The master sleeping room has a 1.6 m bed and a guest room for one person. In addition, one more person can sleep on the sofa.

Originally I am from the northern part of Germany (near Hamburg) I was living in Mehamn and Vardo from 2014 to 2018 based on my previous job responsibilities as a project leader. I like nature, wilderness, and walking and therefore I fall in love with the Finmark! I bought the "Blue House" in 2016, renovated and rebuild it for two years. The house itself is from 1947 and one of the first houses in Mehamn after the village was burned down almost 100% during the end of the II World War. The house and the garden were in very poor condition when I took over...some pictures in the gallery will give you an idea.... Now the house is blue and it became the "Blue House at the end of the world". You can rent either the apartment on the first floor or the apartment on the second floor or the entire house, depending on the current rental situation. I wish you a great time in Mehamn Nils

Mehamn is located in an area of Norway called Finnmark or also known as Northern Lapland in the language of the native Sami it’s called Sapmi. Finnmark is larger than Switzerland but with a population of only 75000 people. Situated far north of the Arctic Circle, Finnmark has a midnight sun and polar nights. Because of the dry climate with frequent clear skies, it is as of September a perfect location to see phenomenal northern lights. Finnmark has crystal clean drinkable water in the rivers and lakes, extremely rich fish life and it is a paradise for all who love to pick mushrooms, cloud-, blue-, cran-, and crowberries.
