Since summer 2020, we are also the owners of the Kongsfjord Guesthouse. In Skua Nature Group we believe in the extraordinary value that nature represents, and our challenge has always been considering it also an economic value. Nature as an inspiration, as a business model, as a holistic focus, as an opportunity. Our intention is to raise awareness among the society, to teach that living nature has more value than dead nature, that this is the world we live in and if we don’t keep it safe, we will never be. Our network of activities represents a global project that, thanks to specific technical abilities, alternative commercial visions, knowledge, passion and a team united by real motivations, is able to create or restore ideal natural spaces for the development of sustainable nature tourism that produces an economic and positive impact in the territory and allow the development of the necessary conservation actions.

Kongsfjord Guesthouse is a charming group of old houses typical of the region. Built by the family of the previous owner, during the time and the period it has been protected and well preserved. The eldest house is around 120 years. Situated in Kongsfjord, in the Veines peninsula, the Guesthouse is a great choice for anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxed environment and get closer to nature. The Guesthouse is located in a traditional fishermen center with hundreds years of history, being Veines the only village that has not being burned down in the Second World War. Surrounded by pure and untouched landscapes, from the sea of Barents to mountains and cliffs, all the rooms have an incredible view of the sea. Guests can also enjoy a restful session in our sauna or seat around the fire place under the Northern lights while having a hot drink. An unforgettable experience that will add a touch of magic to your stay.

450 km north of the Arctic Circle rises the small town of Kongsfjord, an old-fashioned fishing village which is the headquarters of our Wild Arctic Project. As soon as you arrive, you will be immersed in the pristine northern moorland; we will cross taiga and tundra with their free roaming reindeer herds, finally reaching Kongsfjord, from where you can admire the Barents Sea with its playful cetaceans. Here SKUA takes you on a journey to the wonders of eastern Finnmark, a land of wild charm, dominated by snow and ice in winter, with the spectacle of the Northern Lights, and the eternal sun in summer. Incredible environments, home to extraordinary species that adapt to extreme conditions, which we will approach on hikes and from special photo hides. Colorful fishing villages, the jagged peaks of the fjords or the pristine tundra create also an exciting field of work, with changing backgrounds and lighting conditions, for any landscape photographer.The history of this land is told through the many town museums or trenches that can still be seen on the shores of Varangerfjord; one of which, located near Kongsfjord, can be reached after a walk on the Veines headland and is a nesting site for the gyrfalcon. Any nature lover cannot help but be enchanted by this ecological richness; accompanied by a team of experts who make the most of this unique experience in the wilderness.
