A UNIQUE ADVENTURE Living on the water has always been my big dream. In 2020 I embarked on an adventure and started project Surla#1. Houseboats and Tiny houses are becoming increasingly more popular, but I couldn’t find an existing design that met all my needs. After months of preparation, numerous sketches, meetings with many partiesand a design development process with an architect as well naval construction engineers, the time hadfinally come. We started construction late October 2020 and on April 4 the following year Surla#1 went on its Maiden Voyage, fully equipped, operational and ready to become our home. We immensely enjoyed building Surla#1, our passion and fun during the development was reflected in the final result and even more by the overwhelming feedback and interest we received from the world around us. Soon it became clear to us we couldn’t keep this unique experience to ourselves. Together with my partner Judith, we founded the company Surla Group and are now professionally producing a series of Surla’s. Providing you the opportunity to either buy, rent or invest in a top of the line houseboat and start your own Surla adventure. Note: Surla has check-in hosts available at various locations. ADDRESS FOR PARKING: HUIGSLOTERDIJK 355, BUITENKAAG. A Surla Houseboat is a sailing summer residence. Our water villas are fully equipped, 100% ecological and self-sufficient. Luxury, comfort and respect for nature come together here. From April/May on the houseboat is docked on open water. This houseboat is fully equipped. We'd love to welcome you as guests on our Surla houseboat to create beautiful memories with this unique experience.The Surla Houseboat is 15 meters long and 6 meters wide. A total area of ​​84m2 excluding the roof terrace. The living room and kitchen are 25m2, and equipped with 3 large sliding doors, so you always have a phenomenal view over the Kagerplassen. There is a spacious living room with a couch, dining table, tv, pellet stove and sliding doors to the front terrace with outdoor chairs. The open plan kitchen is fully equipped with an induction cooker, fridge, oven, dishwasher, kettle and Nespresso coffee machine. There's also a table-top freezer in the utility room. The bathroom is equipped with a shower, sink and a (dry) toilet. There are 3 bedrooms on the houseboat. Two bedrooms with hotel beds (1.80 x 2.00m), especially designed for Surla Houseboats. The third bedroom has a bunk bed (0.90 x 2.00m). Via outside stairs you can go to the spacious rooftop terrace (24m2) where there is a lounge set to enjoy beautifull sunrises and sunsets. Last but not least: on the back terrace is a warm outdoor shower, great after a swim. Guests have the entire houseboat to themselves. We don't let our guests sail with the Surla houseboat themselves, but a dinghy is included in the rent. The check-in time is between 15.00 and 18.00pm. Earlier check-in is not possible due to cleaning of the houseboat. Please park your car on the verge at Huigsloterdijk 355 in Buitenkaag. Do not drive directly to this home address, but park for free along the water in the verge.We have a host available: Madeleine, she will take you to the houseboat with the dinghy.

The houseboat is located in the Kagerplassen in the province of South Holland. The address for parking your car is HUIGSLOTERDIJK 33, BUITENKAAG. It is a beautiful nature reserve of 11 contiguous lakes and picturesque villages. After booking we will give you detailed instructions on where to park the car. We will pick you up by boat and escort you to the Houseboat. On board we will give you a detailed explanation and of course a tour. During your stay you will have access to an aluminum Tender (Dinghy) of 5 meters, with which you can explore the area and do your shopping. More than a week before arrival you will receive a digital guide with instructions and tips about the area. This guide is also on board the houseboat.
