Enjoy the ultimate comfort thanks to the air conditioning. A beautiful garden has been laid out on the terrace side, where you can relax in both sun and shade. From the terrace you have a breathtaking view of our lush forest garden, which invites you to take quiet walks and explore the estate. Whether you prefer an open terrace or a covered terrace, we have both options available for you. In addition, we also provide all the necessary outdoor facilities, such as tables, chairs and a barbecue, to complete your outdoor experience. Show off your culinary skills while enjoying delicious alfresco meals surrounded by the estate's beautiful nature.
We are Gea and Dick Jansen. In our working life we always wanted to open a B&B, but it didn't happen! When we were able to transform the baron's cattle shed on the estate "Windesheim" into our home in 2016, the idea of a holiday home started to tickle again. Next to our house was a manure stable, which we transformed into an estate cottage. The name Landgoedhuisje "De Blije Uil" originated because a barn owl nested in the former manure stable and still passes by every now and then. The cottage is located on the edge of the village of Windesheim on the Windesheim estate. It is surrounded by green meadows and vast forests and offers a haven of peace and relaxation for anyone looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of the daily life. The holiday home is located in a beautiful natural environment, surrounded by extensive bird areas. The clay holes, where you can spot waterfowl or birds, including the Kingfisher and the Hawfinch. Ideal for bird watchers. You can make beautiful bike rides through nature reserves. You can reach the Veluwe in no time with the bicycle ferry. You have several beaches on the IJssel and can go ice skating on the “Kleigaten” in winter. The area offers beautiful hiking trails, one of which even runs from the Windesheim estate. The holiday home is located in the Natura 2000 area. Windesheim is located in the municipality of Zwolle, a city with beautiful canals, historic buildings and vibrant culture. The city radiates history with, among other things, the imposing Sassenpoort and the Grote or Sint-Michaëlskerk.
