Our exclusively and newly furnished Loft Apartment offers a unique experience in an authentic historic building, ideal for both business travellers and tourists. About Jacques van Marken and His Wife: Jacques van Marken was a pioneering industrialist in the late 19th century, known for founding the Dutch Yeast and Spirit Factory in Delft. He and his wife, Agneta Matthes, were visionaries in social welfare, creating a model community for their employees. This very building served as their residence, making it a place of historical significance. A fun fact: the first telephone line in the Netherlands was installed from this house, connecting Jacques van Marken directly to his factory. Their legacy of innovation and care for society is deeply embedded in the history of Delft, and this heritage is reflected in the thoughtful restoration of the building where our loft apartment is located.
