This is a beautiful hotel in Luang Prabang! We had planned for 3 nights but extended our stay for 2 additional nights as we enjoyed the place so much. The staff was extremely friendly and accomodating. We were provided with lots of tips for restaurants and activities in Luang Prabang and its surroundings. You can easily rent a motorbike and there's a quick laundry service offered. Our room was cleaned every day. Breakfast is great and with a lovely with view on Mekong river. The city centre is in a walkable distance with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby the hotel.

The breakfast is fulsome and more than fine compared to all other guest-houses in Luang Prabang including very expensive ones. What is more, if one wants the traditional French “continental breakfast”, one can go easily to a number of very good french bakeries or bistros near-by.

Just wandering & absorbing the sights & atmosphere of this unusual town was good.
The cultural centre (TAEC) was informative but we didn't go into the palace because they wanted us to leave our bags behind. Too big a risk with passports, money etc in them.
The night market was fun; the food there was varied & cheap.

It has kept its charm and is still worthy of the World Heritage status. we visited during the low season, but i guess it could be owercrowded during high season. The new railway makes it an easy target for mass tourism.
Still a unique place in SouthEast Asia with so much history.

Stunning!
Stunning! Beautiful architecture, totally relaxing on the Mekong and lovely friendly people. An absolute gem! Really need at least 3 to 4 days to cover all attractions but perhaps much longer if you really want to chill!

There is plenty of things to see and do for all different types of travellers. We enjoyed excursions as much as we enjoyed wandering the town or just sitting, having a drink and watching the world go by.
Learning the rich history and culture of the local Laotians both, city and country was engaging and interesting.
Can recommend Living Land Farm experience - this was a great way to spend a morning and your excursion costs goes towards a great cause.
Sa Sa Sunset Dinner cruise is a must - don't just get the free cocktail - try the food - it is amazing.

Great town.
Great town. Main Street is wonderful, lots of restaurants and shops. Temples are all very close to the Main Street. Mount Phousi is in the heart of the town. Easy access to the beautiful Kuang Si Waterfalls and Pak Ou caves. Old town feeling at night when all places are lit up. The Alms giving ceremony in the mornings is beautiful.

Very lovely and welcoming staff from the new owners of the hotel. Freshly painted and decorated, looks great. Room was exactly as shown in the photos. Cleaned everyday to a high standard. Great location to explore Luang Prabang, far away enough from the main town so we always had a peaceful sleep. Walkable to the night market, restaurants and the river (15-25mins). It was noisy due to works going on but we didn't mind because we were out exploring everyday.
Elephant Boutique Hotel is our favourite choice of place to stay in Luang Prabang. It’s very clean and has great showers. Breakfast is good too. Your hosts Rose and Huan are very inviting and go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. They are very helpful in suggesting tours etc and can book them directly from the hotel. The street markets are in walking distance and you are so close to everything but you don’t hear any noise from your room.
Such a wonderful stay very central and in walking distance to the night market, morning market, Phousi Hill, and the Mekong River. I really enjoyed my stay as a solo female traveller visiting Luang Prabang for the first time, the hotel was lovely and the service was really good. I felt at home staying in the Golden Sun Boutique Hotel and would definitely recommend it to everyone.
It was in a great location Luang Prabang had lots of hotels the market is very competitive. Obviously you get what you pay for. This property had a pool and was quite well run, the reception staff were good. The breakfast perhaps would not be to some westerners liking.
-The hotel is located next to the night market. The room is spacious and has a very nice bathroom. Decent value I have stayed at many Luang Prabang hotels here especially the staff are extremely friendly helping us with everything
