The solid and beautiful mud-walled building, which has protected people's food for a long time since the warehouse was built, has been transformed into a healing space that offers tranquillity and peace of mind to visitors. And this storehouse also has enough new comforts added to it that you can't get from just being old. From the total design to the furniture, the design and production was done by the hosts, who are first-class architects. There you will find a refrigerator, a microwave oven, an induction hob, coffee tools for coffee lovers, a toaster for bread lovers to bake delicious bread, and many other things to help you enjoy your stay in elegance. We moved from Tokyo to the satoyama of Okayama, where we live a self-sufficient lifestyle in a rich natural environment. The guesthouse where you will be staying was renovated from an earthen storehouse that has withstood the elements for over 100 years, and we have painstakingly created everything from the fittings to the furniture. The area is surrounded by quiet, beautiful satoyama, a truly original Japanese landscape. In spring, the Makiya Dam, which faces the inn, is covered with cherry blossoms. Rape blossoms, lotus flowers and wild flowers bloom here and there, and wild vegetables such as bracken and Japanese knotweed also appear. In summer, the rice in the terraced rice paddies shimmers green and there is a river where fireflies can be seen. The inn is located at the entrance to a forest, so you can stay cool even without an air-conditioner. In autumn, the sight of the bright red manjushage flowers by the rice paddies attracts amateur photographers. If you are lucky, you can spot a variety of wild birds and animals. Also nearby is Gogeiji Temple, famous for its autumn foliage. Although the area is rich in nature, it can also be used as a base for sightseeing, with the town of Soja, which is said to have many delicious bakeries, Kurashiki, Bicchu Kokubunji Temple and Bicchu Matsuyama Castle all within a 30-minute drive. Buses are available as public transport, but only two services a day are available. Two free parking spaces are available along the roadway, 200 metres from the guest house.
