●This old house was designated by the national government as a registered tangible cultural property . It changed the use to the inn. And the name is "Kanazawa Machiya Kenroku". Machiya means an old private house. The house was built about 140 years ago. The facade of the building is a historic billboard architecture. Inside the house, the beauty of the Meiji era townhouse remains. Stucco walls, stairs, old tin walls, paper made of washi paper, ceilings of precious trees, small gardens ... Like a ninja house, the stairs are so steep and the ceiling is low and exciting. One last samurai lived in this house during the Meiji period.I am his descendant. There is a long corridor in the house. We call the passage "Touriniwa". The long corridor called Touriniwa is lit up at night, and the shadows on the wall are fantastic. There is no bed. Please sleep with a futon. This small heritage house is full of elements that make you feel, "Japanese people used to live this way!" We inherit the space of a real townhouse.
