Keiko can speak a little English and of course Japanese ! Yuka, her daughter, can speak French & English (not always here). Keiko and her family live in the house next to the dependence. She likes to bring her guests to some typical Japanese places.

Guesthouse Tomida is convenient modern small house, you will enjoy the Japanese countryside (said to be the best countryside scenery), close to the Japanese Alps, the Nakasendo and Iwamura Castle. Ski resorts, onsens, hiking and rock climbing spots too. 6 persons can stay in the small house. Cool air conditioner available during summer and warm floor heating during winter. Large shower (like Italian shower).

Very quiet ward, you can have a superb view on the paddy fileds if you walk towards Mt. Mitsumori. Nice small shrines and old houses around. The old town of Iwamura (access by the Akechi Line, car or bike) is very well preserved and offer local dishes such Goeimochi, Kankaramochi, Castella, Lady of the Castle Sake, special Udon ... To go to Magome / Tsumago：I recommend you to leave around 8 am. If you get all the trains and shuttle bus in time, it is about 1h20. Basically : iibama station -> (25-30min) Ena station -> (5 min) nakatsugawa station -> (25 min) shuttle bus to one of the villages Waiting time can be bothersome, so think about taking a book !
