Everything! The location was perfect. In the morning you can have breakfast with an incredible view of the sea, next to the pool, in the beautiful garden. The breakfast was the best we had in all the places we stayed on Sardinia. Doesn’t matter if you prefer salty or sweet breakfast, it has it all! The rooms were really beautiful and everything was very clean. The staff was really kind. So we can really recommend this place to anyone!

Really nice town in a glorious location - quite a peaceful vibe in mid-October as the season winds down.
The Gulf of Orosei is the highlight, with boats trips available to isolated beaches, cliffs and caves. Highly recommend a day trip on Dovesesto (a 1940's sailing yacht) - an unforgettable day out.
If you have a car, nearby walking in the mountains is spectacular.

We highly rate our accommodation at Hotel Ristorante La Conchiglia and wished we had booked more nights. The drive down the mountain into the town was breathtaking. The beach was lovely and even though it is the beginning of the offseason, there were ample food choices for dinner.

Great spot and base for traveling to other areas close by.
I'd recommend staying in Baunei if you're planning to hike Cala Goloritze. It's a long drive back and forth. Definitely book tickets in advance for the hike to Cala Goloritze.

Cala Ganone is a lovely hamlet by the sea. Lots of opportunities for water sports, boating, swimming, hiking, snorkeling, etc. There were families vacationing in the area, and the atmosphere was bright and happy. Plenty of options for dining. A wonderful place.

Cala Ganone is a wonderful place to relax for a few days. Lovely area by the sea with plenty of restaurants to choose from in evenings and have a nice stroll by the sea. Boat trip to the Gulf of Orsei is a must when in Cala Ganone.

It is a beautiful location. Great beaches.
It is a beautiful location. Great beaches. But, there isn't much to see at Cala Gonone. There are a few restaurants and souvenir shops. There is a port where you can get excursions to lots of beaches/go scuba diving.
It was the one place out of 4 where we got bitten the most.
If you aren't going on a boat trip then you will have seen everything in an hour. So to see anything else you need to drive back up the long switchback road to Dorgali to choose somewhere else to visit.

Everything was perfect from start to finish. I would say that this is your best option for hotel in Cala Gonone. The placement is near the City, good restaurants and the beaches. The pool is perfect temperature, and quite large.Excellent super friendly staff who are really really helpful and spoke excellent English, Mario is an amazing person. Very clean and comfortable room. Definitely recommended!!!
The hotel is located right in front of the port, so very convenient if you are going to Cala Gonone for an excursion to the Gulf of Orosei. The staff is very nice. Although the hotel does not provide parking facilities (as most hotels in that area don´t as well), it was not that difficult finding a parking spot on the street, but it was June, not high season...
Our greeting on arrival was excellent. It felt very personal as we were taken to the room and shown the facilities. The hotel had a lovely family feel about it and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful.
The restaurant is wonderful and we had two exceptional evening meals there.
The bed was comfortable and the shower was good.
