Wonderful location in Cala Gonone right on the water. Plenty of restaurants, shops, and five minutes walk to the harbor to catch the boats for the beaches and caves.
Staff - Very pleasant and helpful. Nothing bad to say!
Room - Top floor with a beautiful water view and balcony. Comfortable bed, plenty of storage, simple but tastefully decorated, and good air conditioning. Bathroom was good. Shower was a bit awkward with the door opening into the bathroom door but this seems to be pretty commonplace in Europe. Also the toilet seat was crooked which was weird but not a big deal.
Breakfast/Food - Very good selection and they had plenty of gluten free bread and bakery items if you ask to help accomodate those with gluten intolerances.
Facilities - Gym is older but still has what you need. They also had massage services but we didn't take advantage. The roof bar was great and had good cocktails and aperitivo snacks from 18:00-20:00.
In Cala Gonone, just under a quarter of a mile from the seaside and beaches, Hotel La Playa provides air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom.

We stayed one night and was great. Good room, breakfast and amenities. The staff is really friendly and attentive. I forgot a personal item in the room, and they wrote to me so I could get it back.
Boasting stunning panoramic views that are unrivaled anywhere on the island, the hotel is set in a characteristic village, in the center of Orosei's Gulf, on the east coast of Sardinia.

We stayed here with the plan to visit all the awesome beaches like Calla Luna. It is at the city center, conveniently located with tons of restaurants and the marina right in front of the hotel, where you can rent the boats or yacht to do island hopping. The restaurant downstairs has the most amazing food. They even gave us vouchers at the hotel for the restaurant and boat rental for discounts. Staff was welcoming and responds to messages and requests promptly.

Leuke locatie direct aan de haven. In je eigen rust oase en tuin.
It is a beautiful location. Great beaches. But, there isn't much to see at Cala Gonone. There are a few restaurants and souvenir shops. There is a port where you can get excursions to lots of beaches/go scuba diving.
It was the one place out of 4 where we got bitten the most.
If you aren't going on a boat trip then you will have seen everything in an hour. So to see anything else you need to drive back up the long switchback road to Dorgali to choose somewhere else to visit.

Not sure it would suit people with young children as apart from a boat trip to the caves and to other beaches there is not a lot for them to do but a nice spot for the slightly older traveller as resort is quite quiet.

Great but out of season. Very good restaurants.

Beware the walk to Cala Luna - ignore the guide book - this is a very tough walk, but worth it if you're young and fit. Walk one way and get the boat back.

Even the town is small, but there are a lot of outdoor program, like boating to the different Cala's, small beaches, which could be accessible only from the sea, by boat.
I strongly recommend to visit Grotta di Bue Marino, a roughly 1 km long cave, with English and Italian language guide.
In the town there is a very interesting Aquarium too.
You may find everywhere good restaurants, bars.
We felt ourselves in the Paradise.

Cala Gonone itself is not that interesting, but you can reach some of the most beautiful beaches by boat from the prier of Cala Gonone. The location is nice, you can reach it after a drive on a serpentine.

Cala Gonone is a sensational destination.
Cala Gonone is a sensational destination. The most beautiful little town with lots of great dining options. The excursions to explore the nearby cove are also incredible. I recommend getting a boat and visiting as many of the ocean access beaches as possible. You wont need a car if you only want to see this little town, however, it is challenging to get to without one. This is a must see destination if you love beaches, boating and great food. Do not miss Cala Gonone!
One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. There was an excellent complimentary buffet breakfast which we weren't expecting and the staff were wonderful - waited up for us when our plane was over 3 hours late. Hopefully the very nice restaurant will be fully open soon.
Cute hotel in a really good location (the town is very small so arguably all hotels are probably fine). Views from the rooftop very nice and hot tub is charming. Rooms are spacious. Great value for money compared to other stays across Europe.
The best stay in Sardinia. Amazing, unique place. So peaceful and quiet. Marco was very helpful and prepared us the most increadible platter. Loved every single minute.
