For the Municipality of Carloforte there is a Landing Fee for non-residents arriving in Carloforte. This contribution will be paid by any natural person who, in order to reach San Pietro Island, uses carriers providing scheduled connections or air carriers carrying out passenger transport services for commercial purposes, enabled to make connections to the island. To collect the contribution will be the company Delcomar, which will apply new amounts to the ordinary rates of transport at the ticket office: from 1 November to 31 March there will be a surcharge of 0.50 euros, from April to June and from September to October of 1,50 euros, while for the high season of July 2 euros and for that of August 2, 50 euros.

The characteristic village of Carloforte is the only inhabited center of San Pietro, an island of the small archipelago of Sulcis. The beaches near the village of Carloforte are the most famous of the island and very different from each other: some sandy, others covered with pebbles, others rocky. The nearest beach to the center of Carloforte is Il Giunco, another beach near the center is Guidi, a beach of fine sand alternating with dark rocks. For those who love mixed sandy and pebble beaches the recommended beach is Girin Beach. The island of San Pietro is not very large and you can drive around in a day. So it’s easy to get to each of its beaches from Carloforte. Along the west coast of the island we find Spiaggia La Caletta and Spiaggia della Conca, while along the southern coast to visit the beach of Chinolle, the beach of Lucchese, Spiaggia La Bobba and Spiaggia di Guidi. Other beaches not to be missed around Carloforte are: Punta Nera, Golfo del Becco, Calavinagra and Golfo della Mezzaluna (the latter can only be reached by sea). If you love diving not to be missed: Punta delle oche and Nasca are two caves north of the island ideal for divers.
