A hidden gem in a typical Sardinian town, the old farmhouse has been beautifully restored by the Lugas family – they’ve been here for two centuries - with inherited pieces and portraits. It oozes charm from the ancient cobbled yard to the music room, the antique medical books. The five bedrooms, soft and welcoming in their pastel colours, are big, airy and furnished with precious antique beds on pale wooden floors.
This lovely family, deeply attached to their land and traditions, offers ancient peace and fine food in fascinating southern Sardinia. Settle with the archangel for some days and drive or bike out in this area to discover a different south-Sardinian marvel.
Local points of interest: The Giara natural park: home to the last wild horses, surrounded by Mediterranean evergreen trees. The Nuraghe of Barumini: “Su Nuraxi” The Nuragic village is the only place in Sardinia to be classified a UNESCO World Heritage site. Chiesa di San Pietro Apostolo (Church of St. Peter): A 16th Century church, where you can witness the masterpiece of Sardinian Renaissance art, The Archangel Michael, the altarpiece of the Master of Castelsardo. Visit the farm: Take a guided tour of our farm (on reservation) and discover all our produce. The Piscinas dunes: the nature reserve with the highest coastal dunes in Europe.
