I am a 39 year old German living in the North of Iceland since 2006. It is fascinating for me to operate my own holiday house. All work which has been done to rebuild and open Tungulending was created and followed up by me and in cooperation with friends. I am deeply connected to the building and surrounding and have spend about 5 years of my life only to build up Tungulending.

The house called Tungulending was first used to process lumpfish caviar. It was build in the 1950s and was in operation until the year 2000. It has a long history in icelandic fishing culture and still today it is possible to feel the former importance of this place. In 2013 I have decided to rebuild the house, but keep the original atmosphere. Tungulending is located in a very special surrounding. With the pier and old harbor area it still reminds the old days and past use of the building.

Amazing surrounding. Pure nature. It is very special to find a place for a holiday house so close to the North Atlantic Ocean. Tungulending is in a remote area, it feels like being in an untouched bubble. Unique, peaceful and friendly.
