The Garage has mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Varmahlíð, 14 km from Skogafoss Waterfall. There is a private entrance at the apartment for the convenience of those who stay. The rooms have a patio with lake views. Each unit has a terrace offering sea views, a satellite flat-screen TV, a dining area, a well-fitted kitchenette and a private bathroom with hot tub and a hair dryer. A microwave, a toaster and fridge are also offered, as well as a coffee machine and a kettle. At the apartment complex, units include bed linen and towels. Guests at the apartment will be able to enjoy activities in and around Varmahlíð, like hiking. The Garage features a picnic area and a barbecue. Seljalandsfoss is 17 km from the accommodation.

Tietoa yrityksestä

We are a family living at the farm. Anna and Sigurdur (Siggi), husband and wife. Siggi is a mechanicer and Anna is a lawyer (got bored of that profession and is now glad to serve her guests). We have two grown up children, Einar 22 years old, meat processor and Ingveldur Anna is 20 years old, wannabe lawyer, in university in Reykjavik. Siggi´s anchestors have been living here past at least 200 years. We run a small „gentlemans farm“, we have 10 sheep/ewes. We had hens but this winter a mink got in to the henhouse and killed them. We run our own electricity station and produce electricity from the creek behind the house, to use for our house. In the summer we have a big cabbage garden and catch trout in the lagoon below/south of the farm. In the summer we can always give you salad from the garden. And if you/we are lucky fisherman, you can get trout.

We are located in the center on the south coast. It is a perfect place to stay several days and travel both to east and west. Activities in the neighborhood are many: We are located exactly between the two famous waterfalls Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss about 10 km each way. Then the hot spring swimming pool Seljavallalaug is about 6 km to the east. We live beneath the famous glacier Eyjafjallajökull and the Eyjafjallajökul´s guest center is only 3 km away. The folkmuseum Skógasafn, the most popular museum in Iceland, is 10 km away. You just have to step out of the apartment to meet the elves because they live in the rocks and the big stones nearby the house. Good restaurants are in the neighborhood both fine dining, lunch, grill, bistro and cafe. In the wintertime you can often lay down in the snow and watch the northern lights/aurora borealis.
