The owners are Kristín Kolbeinsdóttir and Grettir Hjörleifsson, who live locally and welcome every customer both in the Holiday homes. Kristín is a teacher and Grettir is a mechanic and contractor for farmers.

The Holiday Homes at Silva are situated by road 823 in the middle of a great agricultural area in the north of Iceland. The first things people notice is all the free space around us where you can walk around, take in fresh oxygen or relax in natural surroundings. Serenity, peace and quiet are also words we often hear. A car is needed to get to the guesthouse because there are no public transports from Akureyri to the countryside.

Eyjafjarðarsveit is one of the best agricultural area in Iceland and has a lot to offer. The Christmas House is close to Silva, Holtsel which offers farm house ice cream is only 6 kilometers further down the valley. Even further in you can find the Small exhibits museum whish is very unique, set up by an eccentric who never threw anything away. Closer to Akureyri is Öngulsstaðir, an old farm that has been remade in its original state and has a long history to boast of. Dyngjan is a gallery with great homemade things made by Hadda a local artist. The swimming pool is an attraction like many others in Iceland, with a slide, steambath and hot tubs as well as 25 meter pool. There are six different churches in Eyjafjarðarsveit and one of them is a turf church. Eyjafjarðarsveit is a part of Eyjafjörður which boasts of two islands and many other attractions.
