There are 17 rooms at Bitra guesthouse, with single, double, triple, and four-person family varieties. They are bright, cheery, and some boast stunning views over Mount Hekla, a local volcano. The bathrooms are shared but spacious and well-maintained. The great big icelandic breakfast is free, the wi-fi is free and also a free parking.

Bitra Guesthouse has a fantastic position in the landscapes of South Iceland, only 15 minutes east of the town of Selfoss. Furthermore, this location places you between two incredible sightseeing routes, the Golden Circle and South Coast. The closest site of the former, Thingvellir National Park, takes only 45 minutes to reach. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Thingvellir is a magnificent place to learn about Iceland’s history and geology. It is easy to access the other iconic attractions of the Golden Circle - the Geysir Geothermal Area and Gullfoss waterfall - from the park.
