Set on Flatey Island in the Breidafjördur Bay, this hotel is a 5-minute walk from the Baldur Ferry Terminal that departs from Stykkishólmur. It offers an on-site restaurant, bar and large furnished terrace. Wooden floors and furnishings are provided in Hotel Flatey’s rooms. All have shared bathroom facilities. Some have a French balcony with ocean views. Freshly baked bread, homemade jam and eggs from local birds are served on the breakfast buffet. Flatey Hotel’s à la carte dinner menu specialises in Icelandic seafood dishes. Village and ocean views can be enjoyed from the restaurant. Hi, I see that your hotel is an island. Is the ferry running at all times? I want to explore Westfjords with my boyfriend for the 4 days we are there so we would want to be up early and able to take our car around the Westfjords area. Thanks for your help, Ashley
There are 2 ferries running daily during the summer months. To help with your trip planning you can see the current schedule on Seatours site under BaldurAnswered on 2 January 2023good day! from what i understood there are no cars allowed on Flatey Island. On booking.com however it says that parking is available is this true?
cars are not allowed on Flatey Island, but parking is available in either port- Stykkisholmur or Brjanslaekur. Additionally, the ferry company can deliver your car to "the other side" during your stopover in Flatey.Answered on 10 May 2023
