Most of the tourist locations are misleading.Except white town and paradise, rock beach, there is nothing to visit.. everything can be covered in a day. Auroville is very disappointing.
Bakery delicacies are not as good as it is advertised by YouTube travellers.

Pondicherry is one of the finest destinations that I have ever visited for a calming and peaceful town well known for its beaches and the French style architect buildings. If you want to spend a quality weekend, especially if you are in Bangalore, just go ahead and visit it, I would recommend if you go on weekdays, you would get much cheaper deals including rooms and etc.,

Lots of beaches and all the beaches are clean. Though Restrooms is a drawback , Govt can work on it in the future.
For Peace, visit Aurobindo ashram and meditate for a while. Go to Manakula vinayagar temple for a vibrant darshan.
For Liquor lovers, Wide varieties to try .....
Fo Foodies, try different cuisine , I like the French breakfast at Coromandel cafe...

Apart from the Parliament and the beach area, there are no other tourist sites. The government should develop more tourism sites like the number of wine shops.
A very long walk from parking lot to Auroville beach is not necessary and not recommended for elderly and children.
What is the reason for Auroville parking fees for a bike is 50 and car is 150 rupees?
It's absolutely knowing scam from all visitors.

Interesting place to visit.
Interesting place to visit. Lots to do and see, easy to get around. A visit to Auroville a must. Book early on line if you want to go into the Matrimandir, it was a memorable visit. Great places to eat. We loved the restaurant at La Villa Shanti (booking essential), Restaurant Cecile, Dilliwalla6 and Bread and Chocolate. Lots of places to get Ayurvedic massage and treatments.
Stayed for a night with ex-fellow hostelers for the Pondicherry Engineering College silver jubilee reunion . It is in the best (white) part of Pondicherry Town and run by Hidedesign group. Dont remember this hotel existing during our college days

Amazing stay - best hotel we’ve been in India thus far! The property had just opened, we were the second guests to stay here. The place was nice and clean, lovely rooms, lovely swimming pool. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The breakfast included was delivered to your room in the morning. Location was absolutely great, very close to Eden Beach, which is by far the nicest beach in Pondicherry.
Set in a prime location in Pondicherry from where French town, beach, manakulla temple are all in walking distance, this newly converted old style building to a compact, decent hotel which offers rooms for all our budgets and requirements is worth staying for a decent budget. I was surprised with the reception staff who first showed me all the rooms and then only collected the money without being lazy.
The Hotel was in the centre of White Town in Pondicherry, it had a lift, the Air-condition in the room worked well, there was a small fridge in the room and the reception provided sealed bottles of Still drinking water. The staff, manager Kabilan and his assistant Mani were very helpful, and even arranged our driver driven cab for two whole days.
It is conveniently located near the new bus stand in Pondicherry. We had checked out of another hotel by morning and our bus/ train was at night. Needed a place to stay till then that was not heavy on pocket.
