Puduchery was much beyond my expectations.
Puduchery was much beyond my expectations. Really had a great time at the beaches, the mangrove forest boat ride, the ocean ride, the beach walk, the beach fun and also the Auroville township visited.

The place is good for enjoyment. We stayed for 2 days.
The place is good for enjoyment. We stayed for 2 days. My kid enjoyed the place as we visted 2 beaches Rock and marina. The best one was the rock beach near to aurobindo ashram. We enjoyed the French colony and took photos and had food in Bakeer street which was very good.

After watching Rick Stein reviewing Puducherry on his cooking in India programme we thought it looked interesting enough to warrant a visit, unfortunately we arrived the same day as a cyclone. Most things were closed understandably but nevertheless we found very few places where we could be understood and in our opinion it is not really a tourist spot. French town or White Town is ok for a look around and it’s about the only place you’ll find a glass of wine or beer but you still have to search hard . Still we found it hard to get information from our hotel about what to do.

Its nice and peaceful.
Its nice and peaceful. Walking / cycle / 2 wheeler is the best way to get around. The streets are relatively clean and the cafes are very beautiful . The locals are helpful and its very safe for women travellers. White town is a must see. Auroville is best if you pre-book your stay there for few days, else not much to see. Museum is not kept well . The Govt buildings are palatial and iconic. The bakeries have mouth watering items.

Location is very good. we had the terrace room and therefore excellent view of the Sea from bed self. possibly slightly overpriced but appears that most of the places in Pondicherry would be priced like that.
They need to do something about the smell that is in the hotel (not in the rooms but in the lobbies and reception area).
further, the breakfast they need to ensure is available till the last guest finishes it.
Excellent stay at White pearl residency.
Great staff, good food and clean room with all amenities. Located in a calm place and the beach is just a walk away. Had a great time during our stay and explored pondicherry. Warm and welcoming staff overall especially Mr.Praveen who helped us avail taxis and autos from the hotel itself. 10/10 would recommend this place.

Plus Points: Staff is good, polite and approachable. The location of the hotel is very good. Very close to many cafes and close to rock beach. They gave me an early checkin as my train reached Pondicherry early morning.
