Pondicherry is a nice size Indian City that you can stroll around safely at least during the day as we did. Good food, tuk-tuk transport was cheap. We found the locals friendly and help full. The road along the white town beach front is vehicle free a lot of the time.

Architecture, tree lined streets. Disliked constant honking of hooters. Difficulty crossing the roads because of the mad scooter riders and walking on the uneven pavements, mainly have to walk along the edge of the road - particularly after dark, headlights in yr eyes. Overall memory of honking hooters.

Pondicherry is a fascinating place to stay and explore. White Town, the French quarter, is unlike anywhere else we’ve visited in India. The only downside is a lack of swimming beaches - either swimming is banned as unsafe or tides, though there is Paradise beach which is accessed by ferry which is supposed to live up to its name. Food is excellent, streets in WT seem far cleaner than many areas. Fun Sunday market worth a visit on MG road.

I think I was expecting baguettes on every corner, but of course it was an Indian city. Many tree-lined streets near the ocean made for pleasant walking and there were some excellent vegetarian cafes. A visit to Auroville is a must; one of the most bizarre places I've ever been to! It's underpinning philosophy is brilliant, but the execution of those ideas is just weird. Their jewel is an enormous gold golf ball that you can only see from a distance, and so much concrete used - where are the low carbon solutions for the structures?

Stay in and around the French Town so that you feel the vibe of the place and enjoy the sights and sounds of the clean but narrow streets and lanes and hear the lashing of waves either on rocky shores or pristine golden beaches.. Food variety and quality is bit hyped while night life is limited but then this is very subjective and would be different for others...

The property stands strong and graceful in the heart of Pondicherry. The victorian structure makes you feel like a you're entering a true 5 star hotel (in its classic sense). It was quite a pleasant experience to have your vehicle taken care of while you enjoyed your stay including a full auto spa. The breakfast spread was fantastic and had a few exotic south indian choices to choose from apart from the usual English Breakfast. The staff were extremely polite and provided a true 5 star service.
I m a single lady traveller on an official visit to pondicherry. My friend suggested Devaki resort. I stayed here for a day. The hotel is neat and clean with spacious room for a family to stay. The rooms are same as in the online photos. The hotel is luxurious,safe and secured. Car parking space is also available here. On my next trip to pondicherry, I will surely get my family to stay here.
Hotel Marinaa is awesome property in the heart of Pondicherry and very near to most of the sight seeing locations.
It is very near to Rock Beach, Pondi Marinaa Beach, Aurobindo Ashram etc.

The super Hotel O Heritage Town formerly Vasavi at 92, Salai st Heritage town Pondicherry is shown as half building to attract people. The booking amount and discount is very good. No pre-payment for booking is attractive idea and cancellation without any charges is super attraction. But later it is found..............................surprising events.
Everything. Superbly located, this clean and comfortable hotel was a minute walk from the beach and super close to the hubbub of Pondicherry. The staff - Ramesh and Kamlesh - were super helpful, particularly when I needed a phone charger and also when my taxi didn't arrive. Thank you guys!
