Overall the hotel is beautiful, however to our disappointment there is a sense that it is not living up to it's former glory - there was mould growing in the bathroom, mirrors in the room were cracked and the pool restaurant area was undergoing works during our stay, meaning areas were blocked with temporary walls and we had to listen to yelling / banging during meals, with a roped off / netted area of construction equipment in a corner of the garden in plain sight.
Whilst there are a lot staff and the staff are very friendly, many appear to be undergoing training which meant check in/check out was a bit haphazard and there were long waits for food at the restaurants (particularly Shamiana and Aquarius) despite there being numerous wait staff. We were also disturbed twice during our first afternoon within our room by service staff asking whether we would like our room refreshed, despite having barely used it.
It also takes away a little arriving at such a grand and prestigious building when there are street dogs running through the entrance ways.
I'm very sad to have to write this review but overall we felt that the hotel did not live up to expectations which was disappointing and for the price point, there may be better options for a luxury stay in Mumbai.

The city provide lot of options for stay, transport, food entertainment etc.

The incompleted metro might have been better if you know what you are doing. Mc Donalds a few steps up past the ATM cash machine is a good cheap option. Must do is India gate from a boat

I stayed for 4 days and loved. It’s very chaotic but once know how to get around etc it’s very easy and lovely people and charm. Great food too if like Indian food. The Indian wine sampled also very nice.

Mumbai is a buzzing place but certainly it can do better with efforts to keep it clean as piles of plastics, wastes ,etc. are often found in crowded areas. Though major roads are well maintained , the condition of smaller lanes, roads deserves maintenance. Besides there is no space to walk around for pedestrians as most pavements & free spaces are occupied by hawkers, kiosks etc.
But Yes, the People, the culinary delights & the cultural components ( music, drama, exhibitions) are absolute delight with top rate auditoria!
Staff were most accommodating. Facilities were 5 star, not sure why they are rated 4 star. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. Rooms were spacious and clean. Shower was great. Loved everything about this hotel and its close proximity to the airport.
