Julley! Myself (Stanzin)+mountain guide or my wife (Tsomo) are always home or in the field around. One of us might occasionally step out to Leh town to buy essentials. We are more than happy to share stories and have conversations over a cup of chai or dinner.Wake up to the melody of birds and a warm blanket of sunshine over your blanket. Your eyes and our windows open out to fresh mountain air, a front yard of apricot, walnut, bushy willow, tall poplar trees, pastures and a glance into everyday village life that merges into the magnificent snow-clad Himalayas! You could get a glimpse of traditional Ladakh culture and food at our home. We serve simple, healthy, mostly homegrown food that keeps you warm.

JULLEY Our home lies in middle of the Likir village, just a few minutes downhill from the historical Likir Monastery. The colors of landscape and the everyday activities change with season. The village depends on its melting glaciers to grow its food. It turns into a lush green oasis hustling with life during summer and slows down for the winters. Our unique culture and traditional knowledge helps us grow as much as we can during this short span on time and spend the winters on art & craft. Everything that comes from the land, goes back to the land. Every little resource is valued. HOW TO GET DIRECT BUS TO Old likkir farm stay or monastery center of village and trekking point. (1 st) ask for New bus station (2) ask for mezda bus stand or mini bus stand. (3) ask for Likir direct Bus to monastery or gonpa. Bus leaves at 30:30 pm so get their earlier to confirm the seat by keeping something on the seat because no ticket system Or you can contact stanzin,we will be waiting for you at the monastery bus stop thank you.

Likir is a serene and peaceful village. People around are very friendly and helpful. Each house in the village is located a few hundred meters away from each other, space out by beautiful barley fields, streams and pathways. In summers you could see the villagers indulged in farm work. As you walk through the village, you will come across kids playing on streets, different kinds of birds, sheep, cows, dzos, stupas and glittering glacial streams watering the fields. Likir is also home to a traditional Ladakhi pottery, a technique still being practiced & nurtured by our lovely neighbor. We would love to give you a tour to their studio & shop during your stay here. You could do an hour hike uphill into the rocky mountains and visit a meditation house built around a small natural spring or walk downhill to the main stream. You might even spot a marmot if you go down to the stream. The village has got only one shop selling noodles, chips, beverages, chocolates, soap and other basics. There are couple of restaurants open near the monastery during summers.
