Kalappura Houseboats operates traditional houseboats that sails along Vembanad Lake and her tributaries which forms the backwaters of Alleppey. The usual check-in location is near Pallathuruthy Bridge. The old & traditional rice barges, called "kettu vallams" are converted to houseboats and they are made from the wood harvested from local wild jack trees and are hand-stitched by local craftsmen using ropes made from coconut husk/fiber. Our houseboat have air-conditioned bedrooms and an attached bathroom with toiletries and hot water supply. The houseboat have an open-air living and dining area and a fully-equipped kitchen. We serve traditional & classic Kerala cuisine along with continental options which are cooked on board. The houseboat docks in the evening and the docking locations vary according to various backwater tour packages.
Kalappura Houseboats & tours operates various backwater tour packages. We operates one night, two nights & three nights tour packages. We have standard package & upgraded packages available for over night houseboat stay. A standard package have some activities included like fishing, village walk etc. An upgraded package have additional activities like canoeing & kayaking which depends on availability. We operates day tour packages & combination day packages which includes houseboat ride, country boat/canoe ride, kayaking etc.
