Green Chromide homestay is a simple, yet luxurious homestay located in an Island called Munroe Island in Kollam district, South of Kerala is a perfect place to spend your vacation. Green Chromide features 4 types of stay. An Independent riverfront air-conditioned wooden chalet, Budget double room with a living area budget double non-AC room with terrace balcony overlooking the river and also a newly built Glamping pod. Budget rooms are on the first floor of two different buildings and the family lives on the ground floor. The chalet and the newly built glamping pod are on the riverside area overlooking the river. All the four types of stay are within the same premises. Staying at our homestay is definitely a wonderful opportunity to experience the real essence of Kerala and of course with a lovely family to take care of you. It is a special place, as it provides something different, especially for those who prefer small, friendly places, and it is the perfect hideaway for people trying to escape from busy city life…
Green chromide homestays welcomes you to be looked after and cared by our family (myself Sunaina and my in-laws. After spending almost 3 decades in a busy city and working with the major corporate sector, I moved to this little heaven far from the busy city life. It’s truly a magical place to live, work and stay in and this is my very personal experience. You will feel as though the time is running slow….. We love meeting new people, talking to them, learning about different cultures around the world and also showcasing the village life and culture.
This place is for people who would like to enjoy the peaceful Kerala's countryside life. Most of the area is surrounded by water. This island is formed by the confluence of the lake and river. It has narrow canals, lagoons, prawn and green chromide farms, backwaters, mangroves, unmanned islands, etc. Its a little village with simple and friendly people. Things to do within the island: *Col.John Munroe Bungalow (5 min walk) *Reghu Munroe's art gallery (4 min walk) *Munroe Mocktail (approx 800 meters) *"S" curve view point 2 kms *Dutch church and Perumon ferry point. approximately 4 kms *Just walk around to see the village life.. Nearby attractions: *Kollam city and surroundings- 23 kms (Around 53 mins) *Thangassery lighthouse- around 25 kms *Thenmala Ecotourism-63.6kms(Around 1hrs 53 mins drive) *Kotttarakara Temple - 23kms(around 53 mins drive) *Jatayu hills in Chadayamangalam - 46 kms(around 1Hr 20 mins drive)
