Nestling in the Eastern foothills of the mighty Western Ghats, "Cardamom House" overlooks the monsoon dependent "Kamarajar Lake" and is surrounded by unbelievably beautiful mountainous scenery. WE ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE HAVE NOW CONVERTED COMPLETELY TO THE USE OF SOLAR POWER TO FULFIL ALL THE PROPERTIES BASIC NEEDS! That includes water pumping & heating, lights, fans, irrigation of gardens, fruit and vegetable growing areas etc. Even the Swimming Pool has its own solar pump ensuring sparkling clear water for users! All rooms open to a veranda with views of the mountains and the monsoon dependent Kamarajar Lake. All beds are equipped with comfy 8-inch-deep sprung mattresses and the bed- linen is made from 100% Indian Cotton. En suite there is a shower room and toilet. We have installed an excellent children’s playground with swings, roundabouts and slides and expanded our stock of sports equipment (suitable for both parents and children) to enable guests to play Cricket, Badminton and Tennis The staff have been working together as a team for up to 27 years! Several of them speak English. We are proud of our cuisine which encompasses a wide range of culinary styles (South Indian, Continental, Thai, Chinese) - and we often 'invent' recipes ourselves! Food is of the highest quality and we purchase only the freshest of fresh vegetables, sometimes twice a day, from local markets.

Mr. Murugesan. is your host - he is also the Managing Director of the registered Indian Company "Cardamom Tours (India Private Limited)" along with two Indian Directors. The founder, Dr. Chris Lucas is 86 years old and now fully retired from all business activities associated with the company. He lives in his own rooms in the garden! Chris Lucas was a British physician trained at Cambridge University and Guy's Hospital (London University). The last 15 years of his active professional life worked as Medical Director Research for an American pharmaceutical company organizing and monitoring Clinical Trials in the major Scandinavian Universities - but living in Brussels, Belgium. Hobbies & Sports: - choral singing, theatre going, international travel - and when younger, waterskiing, windsurfing, flying small planes and gliders, skiing etc.

The most popular activities for guests are: - birdwatching, walking, photography, yoga and meditation, cycling and generally relaxing and being pampered in a truly wondrous place. We have purchased equipment families to play sports such as cricket, badminton, frisbee, tennis. Children are always welcome and we have just installed a well-equipped children's playground complete with swings, round-abouts, see-saws, slides and a trampoline! For rainy days and in the evenings, we have a stock of indoor games such as Monopoly, Chess, Playing Cards etc. Plenty to do! Local tours and to Madurai or Kodaikanal can be arranged on request
