The Atlantic Retreat Lodge is a typical Irish countryside residence. We have fallen in love with the quiete countryside and the phantastic view of the house in 2016 while on a busioness trip and decided to buy this run-down house. After a complete remodel (finished Januar 2018) were we basically replaced everything exept the brickwork and the roof the house now offers the latest in heating (air-to-water), insulation and energy saving devices. The house consists of 2 interconnected apartments - very suitable for 2 families or 2-3 generations. By furnishing the house we put emphasize on high quality bedding, soundproofing and top level bathrooms. All our double beds are king sized (180x200 cm) and equipped with 2 seperate matresses (firm and medium-firm available) and two cosy overseized single duvets (155x220cm). The average "double bed" in Ireland is 150 cm in width!!! All windows are tripple glazed with adjustable air inlets. All bathrooms offer walk-in showers and a high water pressure (not common in Ireland). The kitchens offer plenty of tableware, pots/pans and everything else you need to cook with friends and family. We offer Nespresso coffee machines.
The Atlantic Retreat Lodge is located in a quiet, rural neighbourhood about 500 meters away from Galway Bay. You can take a walk to the "wild" part of Traught beach, walk on large sandbanks during low tide and explore the marine wildlife. The vibrant village of Kinvara is a 9 min. drive away from the lodge. You need a car to get to the lodge. Guest enjoy the quietness and the phantastic views of the Burren National Park. There are no neighbours to the South and West side of the property (except some sheep, cows,...) Families like the safe cul-de-sac location, the wifi/TV/movie entertainment as well as toys/books/games provided for kids of all ages. Adults enjoy the fireplace and the view from the sunroom.
