We went to Bromo and Ijen. Ijen was very hard work, but truly out of this world experience.
Definitely worth the time and hike it takes to get there.

Refreshing welcome drink at the top floor restaurant the best; the live music add extra value to dining there. It's next to the swimming perfect for photo shooting with great view of the city.
The 40 minute taxi ride from the airport may be a negative; but it showcased how clean and tree lined the city of Surabaya is.

But there's more to see and do there as it's interesting place .
People are very friendly
We love the architecture of the hotel and its history. Colonial heritage, decor and simplicity set around courtyard gardens. Breakfast is good, broad range of choices for numerous tastes. Large room with balcony terrace. Location is good. Walking distance, taxi, Grab or even a bucak ride to many places. An hour or less to the airport, train station. Subject to time of day.
The staff in this hotel were friendly and helpful. We specially commend staff Thyas who was very pleasant, polite, and took extra effort to explain things to us as we are first time visitors to Surabaya. Staff Rosida gave excellent service too. This has helped us alot in ensuring a nice experience and stay at this hotel.
The checking was fast and smooth.
The luggage was brought up promptly to my room.
The room had pretty much all amenities needed.
The staff was helpful and courteous.
We opted for a hotel drop to the international airport, the car was nice and clean and the driver spoke English.
The hotel is simply amazing - the facilities, the staff, and the location. Everything matches its price. The breakfast is also very good! I stayed at this hotel a few times during my stay in Surabaya, and I liked it each and every time. Thank you for such a nice stay.
