My husband and I run the Donaustrand apartment near Melk in a medieval historical building, and the Eisenberg apartment on the Hungarian-Austrian border in the middle of the beautiful Eisenberg vineyards

Property information

The approximately 100-year-old vine house has been lovingly brought to the state of the 21st century, in the middle of the vines there is a 3000m2 garden at your disposal, on sunny days you can enjoy your breakfast, lunch or dinner on the side facing the vineyard, there is of course a charcoal grill also on the terrace. In autumn you can enjoy the juicy grapes directly from the rebels, the cultivated variety is called Isabella and is one of the oldest grape varieties, from which the regionally known Uhudler is made. The house is equipped with all modern conveniences, a fully equipped kitchen, in the bedroom a very nice and large comfortable box spring bed and a balcony with a view of the village and the numerous vines, in the living room a pull-out couch, dining table in the living room and a breakfast area at the kitchen, bathroom with shower. Living room and bedroom are equipped with satellite TV, WiFi throughout the house.

Neighbourhood information

Go on vacation in the Eisenberg vineyards, you live on the Hungarian side of the Eisenberg, you drive the main road from the house 700 meters up you are already in Austria. The place is called Vaskeresztes (in German "Großdorf") one of the last German-speaking communities in western Hungary, this region, Burgenland and Eisenburg, were German-Hungary until 1921. There are numerous activities that will make your vacation unforgettable, right in the village you can go fishing on a lake, cycling and stopping off at the many Heurigen and Buschenschank (vin tavern) in Austria or Hungary. Hiking through the beautiful Eisenberg vineyards. Excursions to the numerous thermal baths in Austria (Bad Waltersdorf, Bad Blumau and so on) All within a radius of 30 to 40 km. The beautiful Roman town of Szombathely in German "Stein am Anger" is well worth seeing, only 14 km from your accommodation you will find Various museums, the baroque bishop's residence with the cathedral in the background, as well as the Cathedral of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary, should be visited. The lake in the middle of Szombathely is ideal for boating and the countless restaurants take care of your physical well-being.
