Pučišća, a place surrounded by vernacular houses whose architecture harmoniously adapts to the land's configuration, creating unique urban units with a distinct ambiance and aesthetic atmosphere. Pučišća also boasts buildings of architectural and historical significance, notably its oldest structures - towers and fortresses dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries, some still visible today. Brač stone, renowned for its beauty and quality, has been used in construction since ancient times. Discovered by the Romans two thousand years ago, it was utilized in numerous prominent buildings, including Diocletian's Palace in Split and the cathedrals in Šibenik and Trogir. Tourists can best experience Brač stone in Pučišća, home to Europe's oldest stonemasonry school, which exclusively teaches stone processing using ancient Roman hand tools.
