Toumba was a ‘dream come true’ for my father, Kostas Moukas. My grandmother was born in Milies, and my father took the leading role to protect and promote the area by cleaning and signposting the old footpaths, building wooden bridges to cross the rivers and buying several olive groves to build up his eco farm. Support from the European program Leader made it possible for him to start creating Toumba in 2004. After his sudden death in a motor accident,my mother Margarita,my sisters Christina and Euphoria and I have taken over the property.

The nearest settlement is Milies, a tiny village with only a few inhabitants. Plomari and its attractive coast/beaches are a 25 minutes drive on dirt roads, Skopelos and the Gulf of Gera about 20-30 minutes. You will need a car with good ground clearance, because there is no easy way to Toumba! The drive leads through an amazing landscape, with olive trees, chestnut, plane, pine, crystal rocks, vineyards. While the summers on Lesvos can be very hot, at Toumba you will always be comforted by a cool breeze.
