Coralina Cottage is a detached cottage in the village of Korithi (Κορίθι), around 1.4 km from the picturesque port of Agios Nikolaos and 1.5 km from Cape Skinari, where the famous Blue Caves, one of the most impressive places in Zakynthos, are located. Navagio Beach, one of the most spectacular beaches in the world, is just 15 minutes (by sea) from Cape Skinari. Although close to all the local amenities, tavernas, bars, and sightseeing of northern Zakynthos, it is an oasis of tranquility inside a private 4-acre estate with pine, olive, and fruit trees. It offers guests complete privacy, serenity, fabulous sea views of the sea and the night sky away from light pollution. The house was built around 1980 on a low hill called by the locals "Tower" that overlooks Kefalonia Island. Its renovation was just completed on July 15, 2023, and it has hosted visitors for the first time. It was renovated with great love and care to preserve the beauty and authenticity of the environment, combining traditional details and colors of Zakynthos with modern elements to give it a comfortable, coastal, bright, airy, and elegant style.
I was born and live in Athens but spent all my childhood summers in Zakynthos at Coralina Cottage. I'm a Physics Professor at the University of Western Attica in Greece and conduct research at the European Organization for Nuclear Research, CERN in Switzerland. Apart from my deep passion for teaching physics and conducting research on the fundamental elements of matter and the universe's origins, I am also very actively involved in literature, including poetry and storytelling. This passion has been with me since 1985 and continues to this day. I greatly admire nature. I am fond of animals and always try to find time to participate in volunteer activities for stray animals. At home, I share my space with four beautiful former stray cats! My admiration for the beauty of nature in every corner of this Earth guided me during the house renovation, as I made sure not to disturb the environment in any way. I am dedicated to preserving it just as it was during my childhood!
