The Wood Cottage has garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Scarborough, 14 km from Peasholm Park. Featuring a garden, the property is located within 14 km of The Spa Scarborough. Outdoor seating allows guests to enjoy the fresh air. Every unit features a seating area with a TV, and some of them have a DVD player and a CD player. Units have a kettle and a private bathroom with a shower and bathrobes, while some rooms also boast a fully equipped kitchenette fitted with an oven. At the bed and breakfast, each unit is fitted with bed linen and towels. As an added convenience, the bed and breakfast offers packed lunches for guests to bring on excursions and other trips off-property. The Wood Cottage is a detached stone property, on the edge of the small village of Brompton-by-Sawdon, mid-way between Scarborough and Pickering. The Balcony room has a fabulous view of the Vale of Pickering through floor to ceiling windows. It is a country deluxe feel with a large smart tv, wifi, a small room fridge. The bathroom has a Jacuzzi bath with a bluetooth speaker to fully relax. A continental breakfast is served in the reception room to set you up for your day. You will have shared use of the lounge which is comfortable country cottage style with large picture windows. This is where a continental breakfast is offered in the morning.
I live with my husband David at the cottage. We love The Wood Cottage and enjoy guests visiting us. We have run the cottage as a holiday cottage for years and now have changed to bed and breakfast so we are there for guests. I run craft workshops in our studio next to the cottage and my husband is a children's entertainer.
Our cottage is well placed for people wishing to explore the superb scenery of the North York Moors National Park, and the seaside resorts on the east coast. Brompton-by-Sawdon is a delightful country village situated between Scarborough and Pickering on the edge of the Forge Valley - an area of outstanding countryside. This wonderfully scenic location, with its stone-built cottages, village butcher and country inns, is ideally placed for discovering the countryside, and the surrounding area is somewhat of a walker’s heaven. You may also wish to enjoy the nearby lake or visit the traditional tea rooms for some light refreshment! A little further afield the historic market town of Malton offers quaint shopping streets, whilst the famous family beaches and seaside attractions of Scarborough are within easy reach. Although a small village there is 128 bus that links Pickering to Scarborough. There is a train station at Scarborough and Malton being the closest. A stay at The Wood Cottage is a great base to explore North Yorkshire. If you bring your bikes we have bike racks too.
