Bampton has become famous as the filming village location of Downton Abbey, and you can certainly enjoy modern village life as it features four pubs, a café, a convenience store, an art gallery, library, post office, butchers and pharmacy. The village famously boasts three Morris dancing teams which can be seen during the summer, their main event taking place on the Spring Bank Holiday weekend where you can also enjoy other traditional events including the great original annual shirt race, May garlands and the Flower Festival.
