The Old Scout Hut in Sidmouth is one of the oldest Scout halls in the country; architect-designed on land dedicated by the last Lord of the Manor of Sidmouth. A hundred year later, it is now fully refurbished and converted into a comfortable and quirky home. The building is a bright and contemporary open plan space based in central Sidmouth, only a few hundred metres from town and the beach. There is an outside balcony directly off the dining space with parking beneath for up to two cars. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome for a supplemental charge - please enquire for more information.

We moved to Sidmouth in 2011 having fallen in love with it. We really enjoy hosting and providing our guests with a comfortable experience and are keen to help you make the most of your stay! Access is via a lockbox although we only live a five minute walk away so are usually on hand if needed. If we are away during your stay we will provide you with an alternative contact. The Old Scout Hut is situated in downtown Sidmouth, accessed via the footpath off the main road (Station Road) which leads to the sea only a few hundred metres from the property. Sidmouth is a great little town with so much to see and do that it’s easy to while away several days here without the need for a car. The beach and the Byes river walk are both beautiful open spaces within easy reach as are Blackmore or Connaught Gardens which are also nearby. For those not afraid of a hill, the cliff walks either side of the town are also worth exploring. Sidmouth town itself offers a range of cafés, shops, pubs as well as activities such as tennis, mini golf, paddle boarding, swimming, the cinema and the theatre which is right next door. For most activities in Sidmouth you are unlikely to need a car as the property is well situated for town, the beach and the coast path. The closest train station is Honiton to and from which there is a regular bus service (buses in Sidmouth leave from the Triangle which is a two minute walk away). Exeter is also within a half hour drive or an hour bus journey.
