  • Hi there, we are really interested in booking the property in June - it looks so cool! We will have 2 small children with us (7 months and 1 year) and wondered if you would be able to provide any travel cots and a high chair? We can potentially source these locally (as we are coming from London via train) but just wanted to check. If we were to drive, do you have parking? Many thanks Sarah

    Hi Sarah. Thanks very much for your enquiry. The Chapel isn't advertised as infant friendly due to the floor & the log burner however we regularly have guests with babies & toddlers. As a result we don't provide any facilities for little ones. We have private parking for up to 2 cars on prior arrangement. Hopefully you'll choose to stay at our much loved Iron Chapel, we currently have availability. Lisa

  • Hi, Would it be viable to stay here without a car I.e shop pub etc

    Hi. There's a bus stop just around the corner from the Chapel & a very reliable taxi service. There's also a railway station in the next village approx 20min walk. Hope this helps.

  • Hi Do you allow contractors to stay and have space for 2 work vans similar in size to a Mercedes sprinter.

    Hi. Yes we accept everybody. She's a lovely old building that we've restored & we just ask that everyone takes care of her 🙂 We can get most vans in the courtyard except very long wheelbase. Hope this helps.

It's our pleasure to welcome you to our historic & unique Iron Chapel. Set in a beautiful conservation area away from it all. Neighboured by an award winning nature reserve & open fields. Within sight of Close House Masters golf course. Hadrian's wall & Newcastle/Durham are within easy reach, the perfect base for your break. Local pubs and eateries serving great beer and food are just around the corner. Cozy log burner, fully insulated, centrally heated, self catering, WIFI. Fully self contained kitchen & dining room. Bathroom with WC & separate W/C (2 toilets) 3 double bedrooms, 1 bedroom has a 4ft double bed the other are standard double beds. Lounge area has two large sofas, digital TV/DVD player, multi fuel burner. Fully modernised & restored. *As she's an old girl with original floors, please be mindeful with children under 2years. *Please contact us if your furry friend is coming. They are to be kept on a leader in the courtyard, we have 3 cats. Please ensure they don't go into the bedrooms, blankets are used if they go on sofas & not to be left unaccompanied :) This is part of our home & ask you to leave it as clean & tidy as you found it. Thanks for your understanding.
Hi my name is Lisa & along with my husband Michael we have lovingly restored The Iron Chapel back from the brink of collapse. In most instances you'll be greeted by one of us as we live in the stone church opposite, which we have almost completed. She's an old girl so please respect her & we hope you'll love her & as much as we do!
