"The Cottage" is the perfect countryside retreat for families or friends, in one of the most gorgeous rural areas of England. Our five-bedroom thatched country cottage accommodates guests across three double and two twin single rooms. The lounge is both cosy and full of character — complete with deep-seated leather sofas, a substantial original inglenook fireplace, smart TV with Sky and Blu-Ray player, boardgames, and a collection of DVDs. There’s a large shower room off the hallway, completed in a modern style, with light stone tiles, walk-in shower, toilet & basin, and underfloor heating. Also on the ground floor is the first of the five bedrooms — which features a wooden bed, chest of drawers, desk & chair, and a view of the front garden and pond. An impressive dining area seats 6 comfortably around a solid rectangular table with cushioned tall chairs, which leads through to the kitchen. The kitchen space has a garden and patio view, and comes fully-equipped, including a fridge freezer, oven & hob, separate AGA, dishwasher, washing machine, a small table and chairs, and an abundance of storage. There’s plenty of cookware, glassware, crockery, and cutlery for mealtimes. The upper vaulted floor, reveals firstly a large double bedroom, with views over the front and rear of the property. This grand bedroom also features some beautiful furniture pieces, as well as a storage cupboard, and walk-in wardrobe. Along the upper hallway, there are two twin single bedrooms — one toward the rear garden side of the property, and the other on the opposite front side, both with beautiful wooden beds and both with a very comfy and cosy feel. At the far end of the hallway is the third double bedroom, in another elegant and peaceful room, with views over the front and rear of the property, and with storage pieces for belongings. The family bathroom on the upper floor features a Victorian-style toilet, bidet and basin, lovely oak wood flooring, and a roll-top bath.

Godshill is a small village just outside of the town of Fordingbridge in Hampshire, close to the borders of both Dorset and Wiltshire counties, and within the boundary lines of the New Forest national park. There's a nice pub only 5-minutes walk away from the property, and a small shop at the petrol station between the village and Fordingbridge. As the northern gateway to the New Forest, Fordingbridge is popular for its pubs and restaurants and sits on the River Avon. It features its "Great Bridge", a large riverside park with a children's play area and secluded memorial gardens. Ringwood is about a 15-minute drive south of the property, and is a larger market town with supermarkets, and a host of pubs, bars, restaurants, and the Ringwood brewery. Nearby to the property is the New Forest Water Park a short drive away, which features a wake park, aqua park (think Wipeout!), kayaking, and open water swimming. Further south between Cadnam and Romsey is Paultons Park, a super-family friendly theme park which also has Peppa Pig World. We recommend booking both in advance. One of the main obvious attractions is the beautiful New Forest, with its many heaths, woodlands, and stunning wildlife all on your doorstep. There are many local operators for bike hire, guided walks, horse riding, fishing trips — not to mention a host of interesting villages and towns within The New Forest to explore, stretching down to the coast. You'll be spoilt for places to visit and experience in this idyllic area.
