Some information about Shorefield from the host: <p>Shorefield is a warm and cosy house, it's not modern and could do with a wee bit of a refresh but guests love it because it is full of character and charm. The owners have had to leave Islay as they are elderly and they have left all their interesting books and art in the house for people to share. Their love of birds and wildlife is evident as soon as you step into the house. If you're looking for a modern house setting then our other house Portbahn would be more suited to you. This is a quaint and cosy cottage, and some of the carpets (you'll see featuring in our reviews!) are a little threadbare. It's been a well loved family home the kitchen and dining room is all open plan perfect for a group get together. The Iand is set back from the road and surrounded by wildlife due to the immense work that the couple put in to build ponds, bird hides and a wood at the back. Please feel free to explore this area.

The house is within walking distance of Bruichladdich village and Distillery. You can also walk to Port Charlotte and shortly there will be a footpath opposite the house which will take people safely from Bruichladdich to Port Charlotte. Plenty of pubs and restaurants in Port Charlotte and Bowmore and the supermarket is only a 15min drive away.
